How Did a Baby Bunny Get in My House?

So, picture this: I’m just chilling at home, doing my thing, when out of the blue, a baby bunny pops up in my kitchen. Like, what the heck, right? It darted under the fridge, and I had to play bunny whisperer to coax it out through the garage door and back into the great outdoors where it belongs. No clue how it managed to sneak in, though. I mean, we had some mice problems before, but we sealed up all the gaps years ago.

Now, get this, there were these two little gaps on the outside of my house, about the size of a couple of inches. One of them was pretty close to where I spotted the bunny hanging out. But seriously, could a tiny bunny have squeezed through there, ventured into the crawl space, dropped three feet into the basement, and then hopped up the stairs? I’m scratching my head on that one. I hastily filled one of the gaps with caulk, but who knows how long that will hold up. I’ve been keeping an eye on the crawl space, even set up a camera downstairs to catch any unexpected visitors.

My old man is swinging by tomorrow to help me seal up the other gap, which I’ve jammed with some bricks for now. This whole bunny situation has me feeling like I’ve stepped into a real-life Alice in Wonderland scenario. Any ideas or tips on dealing with this unexpected guest? Am I missing something crucial here? I didn’t spot any bunny droppings or pee, but I went full-on disinfectant mode with the Lysol just to be safe.

Oh, and in case you’re curious, here’s a snapshot of the little mischief-maker and a peek at one of the sneaky gaps in my house. Life sure knows how to throw a curveball, huh?
