Can a Melted Pot Ruin Your Glass Stove Top?

So, picture this – my hubby decides to whip up some good ol’ mac ‘n cheese one night. He’s beat, so he throws a pot of water on the stove and crashes on the sofa. Next thing you know, he’s snoozing away, leaving that pot on the burner for hours. I wake up to a horrifying sight – the pot has melted onto the stove! It’s like a freakin’ sci-fi movie in our kitchen.

Thankfully, our house didn’t go up in flames, but now we’re left wondering if our glass stove top is beyond repair. I hit up Google, searching for a solution to our melted mess. Tried the whole baking soda and vinegar combo, even busted out a razor for some scraping action, but that pot residue just won’t budge. I’m at my wit’s end, folks. Any advice is more than welcome because, honestly, we might be in the market for a new stove soon.

I’ll drop some pics in the comments if I can. Seriously, any help is golden. Thanks a bunch, Reddit!
