Hey there, folks! So, I recently signed with a realtor to sell my house, which was listed for 370k about 3.5 weeks ago. The crazy thing is, we haven’t had a single showing since then. I’ve been bugging my realtor every week asking what’s up, and he suggested dropping the price by 13k. Fast forward to today, I left the house for a bit and got a notification on my camera that there were two cars in my driveway for an unconfirmed showing. Turns out, we actually had 12 showing requests (9 before the price drop) all chilling in my spam text box and my husband’s spam box. We don’t have any special spam settings, just the default ones on our Android phones. I called up my realtor all confused, and that’s when I found out he didn’t even know about the showing requests. He said it’s our job to keep track of that stuff? Excuse me, isn’t that what I’m paying him for? Now my house has been sitting for over three weeks, we missed out on potential buyers, and I’m looking at losing 6% in commission plus that 13k price drop.
I’m feeling frustrated, y’all. Why wouldn’t my realtor be on top of these showing requests? Last week, my husband even called him to ask why we weren’t getting any showings, and he brushed it off, blaming it on the slow market due to political stuff like the Charlie Kirk shooting and the government shutdown. But hold up, we’re also buying a new place, and we had to rush to make an offer because the market is hot right now. Oh, and get this – my realtor is the owner of the company. What’s up with that?
