Oh man, let me tell you about the nightmare we’ve been living for the past two years. We moved into our dream home, a brand new build, all excited to start a new chapter. But then, disaster struck. Our cat just couldn’t get with the program and turned our downstairs concrete floors into a giant litter box. We tried everything under the sun to get rid of that stench – ripped out all the flooring, baseboards, even cut out parts of the wall, and drenched the place in every cleaner, sealant, and deodorizer we could find. But guess what? None of it worked.
So here we are, stuck with a home that half of it feels like a toxic waste site. The front door, entryway, dining room, half bathroom, and a bunch of closets have been off-limits for what feels like an eternity. Our beautiful home has turned into a never-ending construction zone, and it’s taking a toll on our mental health. I mean, we had to take in our young niece and nephew, turning our family of two into a family of four, right when this whole mess started. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions, from frustration to despair to a longing for our old life back.
I look at pictures of our home from back when it was pristine, and I can’t help but get all teary-eyed. The simple joy of walking through the front door or having a normal, cozy family dinner feels like a distant memory. I miss the days when our home wasn’t divided into livable and unlivable zones, and I could just be at peace. But here we are, drowning in a sea of failed attempts to banish that stubborn cat pee smell.
