Alright, so here’s the deal. I’m in the process of closing on this 1994 subdivision builder home – nothing too fancy, just your run-of-the-mill place. Now, let’s talk about the windows. I’ve seen them a million times before, you know, the classic double-hung wooden ones that seem to be everywhere. They were put in back in ’94, and for the most part, they look pretty decent. No rot, no major issues, just a bit of condensation going on.

During the inspection, the inspector pointed out that about half of these windows have condensation on the panes, which he says is a sign that they’re on the verge of failing. Here’s the catch though – nobody wants to come out to the house for estimates since technically I don’t own it yet. And even if I try to arrange it with the current owner, no one seems keen on just repairing the windows.
