Hey there! So, my boyfriend and I just moved into a new place, and our backyard is screaming for a cozy outdoor dining setup. But here’s the catch – the backyard is playing host to a pretty nasty poison ivy situation. Now, I’m no expert on this itchy green menace, but my boyfriend has some experience, albeit not in tackling it at the source.
He once helped a friend clear some poison ivy off a roof, but that was more of a top-down approach. Now, we’re facing the real deal – the roots! I’ve got some photos of the green villain, but unfortunately, I can’t share them here. If you think visuals could help, I could drop them in the comments or slide into your DMs.
So, my boyfriend went all in and got himself a hefty 2.5 gallons of RoundUp Weed & Grass Killer. It’s sitting there, waiting to be unleashed on the ivy. But here’s my dilemma – I’m all for reclaiming our backyard, but I’m also a bit of a nature lover. I don’t want to harm any unsuspecting squirrels or fill the air with toxins if there’s a gentler way to deal with the issue.
But, this RoundUp stuff is what we’ve got, and my boyfriend is itching to use it (pun intended). So, if anyone out there has some wisdom to share on how we can rid our yard of this leafy menace without causing a nature disaster, we would be forever grateful. After all, we just want to kick back and enjoy our backyard without the fear of a surprise encounter with poison ivy. Help a newbie out, will ya?
