A few years back, there was this cool website that had a map showing how energy use would change as the temperature rises. Humboldt County in California was highlighted on the map, predicting that its climate would actually get better because of the cool ocean upwelling trapped by the nearby mountain range. The map also suggested that electricity use in homes would become more energy-efficient in that area. Given the elevated land in Humboldt County, it seemed like sea level rise wouldn’t be much of a problem except for the low-lying regions.
I’m working on a project for my class that delves into climate migration and its impact on markets, and I’m looking to propose a development plan for Humboldt County based on that old energy use map. However, I’ve been searching online for the map, and I just can’t seem to find it anywhere. If anyone has a lead on where I could locate it, I would greatly appreciate the help.
