Hey guys, so check this out – I used to have this sweet setup in my backyard. My old neighbor had a deck that sort of overlooked my space, but she hardly ever used it. So, privacy wasn’t really an issue for me. Fast forward to when she sold her house and this new neighbor moved in. This lady is all about that deck life. She’s out there all the time, sometimes with a whole entourage, and it’s throwing off the vibe in my yard. My poor dog gets all worked up with the sudden invasion of our space, and I end up retreating back indoors. The deck usage went from a rare occurrence to a full-blown daily situation, and it’s cramping my style. I mean, I even avoid having friends over because the lack of privacy is just too awkward.
I mean, take a look at this pic I snapped: [insert image]. You can see what I’m dealing with here. I thought I was in the clear with the fence we put up a few years back for some privacy from the neighbors. But now, it feels like there’s no escape from the constant eyes on our backyard. I’m living in zones 6b/7a, in case that detail helps in finding a solution.
So, what’s a person to do in a situation like this? How can I reclaim some peace and privacy in my own yard? I’m all ears for any suggestions or clever ideas to make my space feel, you know, more mine. Hit me up with your thoughts!
