Is Weekly Landscaping Necessary for Multifamily Properties in the Midwest?

Hey there, fellow property owner! So, I recently snagged a 4-unit building in the Midwest, and let me tell you, it’s in pretty decent shape compared to others around here. It’s no spring chicken, having been put up back in the mid-80s, but it’s holding its own quite well. I’ve got this property manager on board who’s been impressing me with their dedication and genuine concern for the place. They just hit me up with a landscaping quote of $70 a week. Now, I don’t think they’re out to pull a fast one on me, but I’m just not sure if weekly landscaping is really a must for a multifamily property like mine.

I mean, when I think about it, maybe a monthly spruce-up or even every other week should do the trick. The lawn isn’t massive, but it’s there, and while I definitely want to keep the curb appeal top-notch, we do have those chilly Midwest winters to consider. Gotta be practical, right?

I’m just curious, what’s the deal with landscaping on your properties? Do you go all-in with weekly maintenance, or have you found that a less frequent schedule works just fine? Let me know your thoughts on this. It’s always cool to hear how others handle these things.
