So, I’ve been thinking about switching up the vibe in my man cave with a darker color like Sherwin Williams Oakmoss. Right now, the walls are pretty light, and I’m ready for a change. I’m wondering if it would be a good idea to grab a couple of cheap paints from Lowe’s in a darker shade as a base before going all-in with the final coat of the dark color. I’ve heard that when you’re painting with dark colors, it might take a few coats to cover up a lighter color underneath. So, I thought maybe I could save some cash by starting off with a budget-friendly dark paint before splurging on the real deal.
But after some advice and thinking it through, I’ve decided to skip the whole “throwaway” paint idea. It seems like the hassle wouldn’t be worth the few bucks saved in the end. Time to go all-in on the good stuff!
