Is Your Plumber to Blame for Your Leaking Garage Ceiling?

Hey, so we just wrapped up renovating our kitchen. Finally got the countertop installed last Friday, and then had the plumber over yesterday to set up the sink and all that jazz. Last night was a big moment – we ran the dishwasher for the first time in a month. Man, were we thrilled not to have to trek to the utility room to wash dishes anymore!

But hey, this morning, we woke up to a nightmare. The entire garage ceiling was leaking, and it messed up the ceiling and wall big time. And get this – it’s right under the kitchen. Talk about timing, right? We got in touch with the plumber, but he couldn’t swing by right away, so we did a video chat instead. Showed him the mess under the sink and in the garage. And you know what his response was? “Sorry, not my problem, that’s on the dishwasher.”

Now, we’ve been using that dishwasher just fine for over two years. The plumber had disconnected it before we tore down the old kitchen and then hooked it back up after the new one was in. And now, this mess. I’m at a loss for words at this point. Dealing with fixing up the ceiling is already exhausting, and then we have to deal with this plumber situation on top of it all.

This is our first home, and man, it’s been a wild ride. Any advice on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
