“Why Is My Home Always So Humid? Solutions Needed!”

Ever since we bought our house a couple of years ago, we’ve been dealing with persistently high humidity levels. Now that winter is approaching in the southern hemisphere, I often wake up to find the humidity in our bedroom and other rooms hovering around 71% or even higher. We thought getting a dehumidifier would solve our problem, but my partner is wary of leaving it running while we’re away. Opening the windows doesn’t seem to help much either, as the humidity rarely drops below 60%. It seems like we might just be living in an area with naturally high humidity. So, what are our options? The dehumidifier we have is noisy and needs frequent emptying, and those moisture-absorbing buckets haven’t been very effective. They stay empty for months and then suddenly fill up in no time, without making much of a dent in the humidity levels, which sometimes even spike up to 70%.

I’m reaching out for advice because we’re at a loss here. We need a solution that actually works. Any suggestions?
